Like many people across the world, I joined in the tradition of planting flowers (or more accurately, having someone plant flowers) in my yard on Good Friday.
I read a bunch of articles saying that there is no evidence that planting on Good Friday is any better than any other time of the year, but I like to do it anyway … even if the Texas heat is going to kill them all in June and I’ll spend July and August having replacement flowers planted.
This year, I decided to plant hydrangeas.
No, I didn’t realize they are extremely hard to grow in the Houston climate when I bought them. In reality, even if I had known, I still would have bought them because they are so gorgeous!
I’ll be happy for whatever time they stay alive in my yard. Check out this beautiful photo …
