A Glutton for Punishment

I’m the crazy type of person who is happier when I’m busy.

Not just any type of busy.

The kind of “so much stuff on your to-do list that you couldn’t get it done even if you could stop time and give yourself extra hours in everyday” type of busy.

I’ve always been that way for as long as I can remember.

I’m the girl that needs a vacation from her vacation because she packed too much stuff on the itinerary and refused to not see it through.

Now that I’m “staying home and working safe” … even with my day job and writing books, I find that I’m getting bored. I want more stuff to do. More stuff to cycle through and challenge different parts of my mind since I can’t do what I’d normally be doing right now.

For those of you who’ve checked out my Youtube videos, you may have caught a glimpse of a keyboard next to me in the corner. I do my videos in a small upstairs office nook, kind of a mini version of my larger office downstairs, that contains another desk and computer and my piano keyboard.

Now, I do not know how to play the piano. Not at all.

I bought the keyboard to force myself to learn because for as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to know how to play the piano. Initially, efforts to learn went by the wayside because … well, I had too much stuff on my to-do list and had to prioritize.

But last week I got another sign (other than the boredom I mentioned before) that it was time to try my hand at the piano again.

An email from Musiah, the online piano course that I’d signed up for years ago, was sitting in my box waiting for me to discover. They are offering a free month of their courses and guess who just signed back up?!?!

I’m super excited about trying it out … again!!!

As soon as I learn a song, I’ll do a video so y’all can watch my rudimentary efforts! Ha!
